First of all, sorry for the lack of posts recently! I've been caught up in a whirlwind of uni and a new relationship - but what does this mean for all you lovely readers out there? It means no more "in front of my window, I'm just a silhouette" photos! So, here is the first set of photos taken by my new photographer/boyfriend. Not bad, no?
So, maxi dresses - where do I begin? I have a love-hate relationship with them. I love them because (this is a little embarrassing) as a child I also sought for my mother's longest skirts and dresses just so I can run around with floor length material and pretend I was a little Princess - no joke. So when maxi dresses and skirts became trendy again I was absolutely smitten. However, being only 160cm (5"2) tall maxi dresses become more like maxi dresses with a train, so there is always much tucking up or hemming to be done.
I got this dress when I was down in Melbourne for the Christmas holidays and I was captured by the lovely material - the sheer black with velvet polka dots - my two favourite things! I checked the price which screamed $59.99 and was further heart broken by the size (which is a bit big on me...) but having just fallen head over heels for it I took it to the counter and bought it anyway, only to find it was now only $10 - making it only one problem, the size. So, if anyone out there is looking for a tailoring challenge I have one for you, this dress.
